Louisiana Surplus Line Association was founded in 1958 as a vehicle to promote communications, education and professionalism
within the Louisiana surplus line community.
Originally, only persons who held Louisiana surplus line licenses
were eligible for membership in the Association. The Association's by-laws were amended in 1981 and 1988, to permit persons
or companies, who are interested in or deal with surplus line business, to join the Association.
Since 1958, the
Association's membership has grown from a handful of "pioneers" in the business to an active organization of
more than one hundred individuals and companies.
If you are a licensed surplus lines broker, use surplus lines
facilities, or deal with surplus lines business, you should become a member of the Louisiana Surplus Line Association.
